Bronte and Blake

A Love Story by the Jorgensens

When a wedding stylist plans her own big day, you know it’s going to be something special. For Bronte, founder of Four Two Events, and her partner Blake, the vision was clear from the start: a heartfelt celebration at her family home by the river, filled with sentimental details, refined styling, and spaces that encouraged connection.

“Because we’ve been together since we were young, most of our guests have seen us grow through so many stages of life. We wanted the day to reflect our story – ‘A Love Story by the Jorgensens.’ We wove that into the signage, stationery, and even the little ‘Love Letters’ we wrote for each guest.”

The rolling paddocks and river views inspired a romantic palette of earthy pinks and greens. With her stylist’s eye, she knew how to balance refinement with authenticity, creating a day that felt elegant but never overdone.

Styling the Day

Mood boards were the natural starting point to really understand how she wanted everything to look and feel. From there, she honed a look that felt timeless, romantic, and connected to the natural landscape.

“I wanted everything to feel intentional, refined and beautiful, but still relaxed and connected to the setting.”

Must-haves included bentwood chairs and stools (“they instantly elevate any setup without feeling stuffy”), and crystal cut glassware that sparkled in the evening light. And then there were the velvet lounges from Bang Event Co.

“I was immediately drawn to your velvet lounges! Velvet is one of my favourite textures – it’s timeless and instantly adds warmth and depth. The convex and concave shapes meant I could mix up the seating layout. We ended up winding them around a tree near the dance floor, creating the most inviting little lounge area. Guests absolutely loved it.”

The Bang Experience

Even as an experienced stylist, the bride loved how simple we made the hire process.

“I absolutely love Bang’s booking system, you can browse, add everything to your wishlist, and get an instant quote. It made planning so much simpler. From there, Anna was amazing – responsive, accommodating, and nothing was ever too much trouble.”

A Day of Stories & Surprises

The wedding wasn’t without challenges. A forecasted 26°C turned into a scorching 34°C day under a clear-span marquee roof, our candles were literally melting on the dinner table. But with quick thinking and flexible vendors, the couple embraced it.

“We extended cocktail hour in the shade and pushed dinner back, giving the marquee time to cool. It actually worked out beautifully and we snuck in a few extra aperols!”

What would you do differently?

“I wouldn’t change much, but I would have hired an on-the-day planner (yes, the irony isn’t lost on me). I was so supported by my incredible vendor team who went above and beyond, but I was adamant I could handle the on-the-day planning myself. After all, it’s my job.

So there I was, switching the lighting from dinner to party mode, coordinating service times after weather delays, and checking the fuel in the generator tank… While I didn’t mind, my bridesmaids were quick to point out that no one should ever do that while wearing full glam and a big white dress. And they were absolutely right!

An on-the-day coordinator is worth their weight in gold for keeping things running seamlessly so you can stay in the moment and enjoy your day with your people.”

Advice from the bride

With her professional background, the bride offers sage advice for couples planning their day:

1. Think of your run sheet as a “best laid plan”, not a rigid schedule. Weddings are full of surprises, so build in buffer time, be ready to adapt and most importantly…trust your vendors! Focusing on every little delay will only bring you unnecessary stress.

2. Details and styling are undeniably an important part of your wedding day, but what guests truly remember is how they felt. Invest in moments that make your guests comfortable and create connection. That’s what will ultimately take your wedding from a beautiful event to an unforgettable experience.

3. Finally, don’t fall into the trap of following trends just because they’re popular. Your wedding should reflect who you are as a couple. Authenticity is the ultimate trend and this will make your day timeless, memorable and uniquely yours.
